A Microsoft Dynamics Consultant and ChatGPT

CMA EDITORS NOTE: We do not recommend using AI generated content for blog content. Google has clearly stated that AI content will be detected and penalized. However, marketers can safely use ChatGPT or other AI tools to create content for social media posts, emails, ad copy or even for brainstorming. Or you can use AI content as a basis and then rewrite. In this guest post we just want to give a real life example in our channel of what ChatGPT can deliver with our type of topics. Use Originality.ai to check for AI generated content on your site.

“The world is changing, and we must adapt to it, just as our society adjusted to the industrial revolution and the Internet. I believe the AI revolution is just around the corner in the next couple of years.

Many now know that ChatGPT is currently the most popular tool of conversational Artificial Intelligence. Its growth is faster than any other technology company we have ever seen. When ChatGPT was available for beta, I needed to test how good it was, and boy, it is very good.

From a personal perspective, I had a great time conversing with ChatGPT on just day-to-day things. For example, I asked, "What do you think my dog would say to me?"Or silly things, like, "Explain to me what Business Central is as if you are Shakespeare himself."

Seeing how good it was, I took it a step further. This is how my conversation with ChatGPT went.

Note:

  • My role is the Dynamics 365 Business Central sales rep.

  • ChatGPT was the Dynamics 365 Business Central prospect/buyer.

My Conversation with ChatGPT about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Kris (me): "I want you to act as a Business Central sales rep. I am going to act as a Business Central prospect. I want you to ask me several questions that would qualify me to do business with you and convince me that I need Business Central. For each of your questions, please wait for my reply before asking me the next question."

ChatGPT: "Sure, I'd be happy to help you understand more about Business Central and how it might benefit your business. To get started, could you tell me a bit about your business and the challenges you are currently facing?"

Kris: "I am a distributor and I sell products out of my warehouse. Because of my business growth, it is harder to keep up with inventory levels and what I have in the warehouse."

ChatGPT: "Thanks for sharing that with me. Business Central includes a range of powerful inventory management tools that can help you keep track of your stock levels and ensure that you have the right products on hand to meet customer demand. Would you be interested in learning more about how Business Central could help you manage your inventory more effectively?"

Kris: "Oh yes! I understand that it has a built-in inventory warehouse system. I would like to know more about how it can help me sustain my growth."

ChatGPT: "Absolutely! Business Central's inventory management features can help you maintain accurate and up-to-date records of your stock levels, including what you have on hand, what you have on order, and what you have committed to customers. You can also use the software to set up reorder points and receive alerts when stock levels are low, so you can avoid running out of popular items.

In addition to these features, Business Central also includes tools for purchasing, sales forecasting, and production planning, which can help you better anticipate demand and manage your supply chain more efficiently. This can help you sustain your business growth and keep your customers happy.

Would you like to see a demo of Business Central's inventory management features and learn more about how they can benefit your business?"

Kris: "Yes. that would be great to see a demo of the inventory management feature."

ChatGPT: "I'd be happy to set up a demo for you! In the meantime, here are a few more questions to help me understand your business needs:

Do you currently use any software to manage your inventory and other business processes? If so, what do you like and dislike about your current solution?

Are you currently experiencing any specific challenges with your inventory management, such as stock-outs or overstocking?

How many users would need access to the software, and do you have any specific user requirements or preferences (e.g., mobile access, integration with other systems)?

Do you have any specific budget or timeline in mind for implementing a new solution?

Answering these questions will help me better understand your needs and tailor the demo to your business. Looking forward to your responses!"

Kris:

  1. "I currently use quickbooks and some access database for the inventory."

  2. "I always do not know how much inventory I have until end of the week."

  3. "I have roughly 6 users who access the software from accounting to warehouse staff. Warehouse will need some form of mobile access while finance access it via laptop or browser would be ideal."

  4. "Since we're no longer in the busy season, I would like to get up and running in 6 months and my initial budget is under 100k."

ChatGPT: "Thank you for sharing this information with me. Based on what you've told me, it sounds like Business Central could be a great fit for your business. The software's powerful inventory management features, combined with its financial management tools, could help you better manage your inventory and streamline your business processes.

I'm confident that Business Central's mobile app, which includes a range of features specifically designed for warehouse staff, would be particularly useful for your business. And with a 6-month timeline and budget of under $100,000, I believe we can work with you to find a solution that meets your needs and budget.

I'll go ahead and set up a demo for you so you can see Business Central's inventory management features in action. I'll also send you more information about pricing and deployment options so you can make an informed decision about whether Business Central is the right solution for your business.

Thanks again for considering us as your Microsoft Partner. I'm excited to work with you and help your business thrive."

The Results

As you can see from my conversation with ChatGPT, it did a wonderful job interacting with me. I am excited about what AI can do for us in the future. Please note that my experience may differ from yours.

I want you to know that my conversation with ChatGPT was not altered and it is presented exactly how it responded. With the scenario that I gave ChatGPT, it did a fantastic job explaining what Business Central could do at a high-level, without going into detail. One key point where I would do different if I was speaking to a Business Central prospect I would have asked more specific questions.

  • Questions that I would normally ask to get further into their business processes to help prepare to answer their pain points during the technical demo.

  • Questions about other solutions the prospect have already looked into.

Overall, with time and more data, I think ChatGPT or AI will be an integral part of the way we do things, not just for business but also in our personal lives.
